The Beer

Our fall hoppy seasonal beer.  Dark malt is combined with lots of hops to create a complex IPA.  It’s the perfect companion as the days begin to shorten and the weather cools down.

7.5% ABV
70 IBU’s

The Ingredients

Malt: 2 Row, Munich, Special B, Caramel 15L
Hops: Chinook, Nugget, Cascade
Yeast: House Ale

The Story

Fall is one of our favorite seasons and leaves changing color is one of out favorite parts of the fall.  Senescence is a term for the collective process that leads to the aging of a plant, like a leaf.  Most notable in the process is the destruction of the chlorophyll, which has been responsible for the green color of the leaves.  As the length of daylight decreases, the plant’s ability to synthesize chlorophyll becomes reduced, which allows the other colors already in the leaf to show.  That’s enough of the science lesson, grab a beer in honor of Senescence.
